Kids Martial Arts

Q: “Does martial arts, karate, tae kwon do make kids violent?”

No way! Martial arts is about peace, harmony and diplomacy. It teaches children how to AVOID fights - not pick them.

Q: “Does my child face a risk for injury with martial arts, karate, tae kwon do?”

Our program is extremely safe. We have measures upon measures in place to insure that your child will stay safe, and have a great time. From stretching to warmups to very close supervision - we've got your child covered. Injuries do happen sometimes - but they're quite rare.

Q: “Can my child still participate in martial arts, karate, tae kwon do if he/she is not athletic?”

Yes! In fact, martial arts is kind of a beacon of light for kids who just don't fit into team sports. Kids who never could throw a ball well or run fast find that martial arts is accessible to them. It's something they excel at, and as a result, their confidence soars.

Q: “Is martial arts, karate, tae kwon do fun for children?”

Absolutely! In fact, kids usually have to drag their parents to martial arts class - something parents are always shocked to see. We have our serious moments here where kids work and learn... but we have just as many moments where they goof off and have a blast!

Q: “Will martial arts, karate, tae kwon do improve my child's confidence?”

Yes! Martial arts is a powerful source of confidence for kids. They practice hard and learn techniques in order to advance through the ranks. And as they advance, they fill with pride. After all, they're the ones doing all the work - so they feel all of the accomplishment whenever they learn a new move... achieve a new belt... or get praise from their fellow students and instructors.

Q: “What ages are the other kids in the martial arts, karate, tae kwon do class?”

We have classes for kids as young as 3, and as old as teenagers. Martial arts is the kind of thing that grows with you. So as kids get older, they learn new techniques, perfect old ones, and advance. When they're younger, it's more about fun and games, with learning thrown in too.

Q: “Do boys AND girls take martial arts, karate, tae kwon do?”

Yes! We have a good mix of both girls and boys in our kids martial arts classes! Some people think that the boys are much “stronger and tougher,” but in reality this is not true. In fact, often girls are the stronger ones!

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Q: “What level of physical fitness does Brazilian Jiu Jitsu require?”

Any. We have guys and gals who are in incredible shape - and others who aren't. Everyone has a great experience, and gets a killer workout, too.

Q: “Will a medical condition / past injury interfere with participating in BJJ?”

Probably not. But we advise speaking with your doctor first. He / she will know better than anyone - and may be able to tell us what exercises you can & can't do.

Q: “Is there a high risk for injury?”

Definitely not! After years of practice and expertise with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, we've identified the key factors that lead to injury - and designed our program to counter each of these factors. The result: injuries do happen (as they do with any intense sport), but they're extremely rare.

Q: “Will I be the only woman in class?”

Not at all. While the classes are mostly filled with men, there are women who participate and get a lot out of our BJJ classes, too. Everyone's focus is on learning BJJ, supporting one another, and having a great time. Gender isn't an issue.

Q: “What's the class-environment like? Fun? Serious? Etc.?”

Our classes are a mixture of supportive, fun, serious, focused and goofy. There are moments of intense concentration... moments of fun & games... moments of encouraging one another to keep going, and do your best... and so much more. It's a vibrant blend of fun, focus and passion.

Q: “Are these classes only for competitive BJJ?”

Not at all. We have a good blend of competitive guys, hobbyists, and people just looking for a kick-ass workout.

Q: “Can these classes help me get ready for my upcoming matches?”

Absolutely. We'll work with you to get your body, mind & technique ready for anything. Your fitness will skyrocket. Your technique will be honed & sharp. And your mind will be positive, focused & ready.

Fitness Kickboxing

Q: “Do you guys offer only group classes? Or private classes too?”

We offer both for your convenience and learning style. While most of our members enjoy the group setting, you're welcome to speak to our instructors about private classes.

Q: “How many people are generally in a group class?”

Normally around 15-30, with more instructors added as class size grows.

Q: “Are there other beginners in the classes?”

Yes, classes are full of people of all experience levels - including total beginners.

Q: “Do you offer any kind of help / guidance with nutrition and eating?”

We've researched deeply into nutrition to give all of our members powerful guidance - without making them start impossible-to-stick-to diets or anything of the sort.

Q: “Is this similar to “cardio kickboxing”?”

No, our classes are extremely interactive, and involve real-life boxing equipment like punching bags & gloves. This is nothing like cardio kickboxing!

Q: “ Will I get toned in these classes?”

Absolutely. We've designed our program to lean & tone your muscles, helping you burn fat fast.

Mixed Martial Arts

Q: “Is this MMA training program for 'star athletes'? Or can anyone join?”

Our doors are open to anyone and everyone. As long as you're willing to learn, have an open mind, and have fun - you're more than welcome. If you're not in great shape right now, don't worry about it. We'll get you in tip-top shape in no time.

Q: “Is there a good chance that I'll get injured?”

No way! Injuries are very few and far between with our program. That's because no one is trying to hurt anyone else here. We all just want to get in awesome shape, have fun, and learn some killer MMA techniques.

Q: “Are these classes violent?”

Absolutely NOT! These classes are fun, challenging, motivating, and many other things. But they're certainly not violent. Our MMA training program is a tightly knit family of people who are all dedicated to the cause.

In our case, the cause is having a blast while learning killer MMA technique.

Q: “What are the ages of the other students?”

Students range from 20s to late 40s. However we've had younger, and we've had older. Since you can go at your own pace with this training, there's really no age limit. Well, babies might have a bit of trouble ;-)

Muay Thai

Q: “What level of fitness is required for Muay Thai?”

Any! Our classes help people who aren't in shape, get in shape. And they help people who are in shape get in even greater shape, fast.

Q: “I have a past injury / medical condition. What should I do before signing up?”

Contact your doctor, and see what he/she says. If your doctor has any questions for us, let us know and we'll gladly answer them!

Q: “Do people get injured a lot in these classes?”

Not at all! No one here wants to hurt anyone else. It's like a big team - or family - here. We all train, work hard, sweat and grow stronger together. That, combined with the pre-cautions we've taken to prevent injuries, means that injuries are very rare here.

Q: “Are these classes beginner-friendly?”

Yes! As a beginner, you'll either be paired up with other beginners for drills, sparring and exercises. This isn't like a “fight club” or anything! This is a positive, supportive training environment.

Q: “I'm NOT a competitive fighter. Are these classes right for me?”

Absolutely. Many people take our Muay Thai classes as a way to get in shape. Others want to learn an awesome martial art. Some just want to get an adrenaline rush. But you don't have to compete to fit in here.

Q: “I AM a competitive fighter. Are these classes right for me?”

Absolutely. We've helped - and continue to help - many MMA & Muay Thai fighters prepare for matches. You'll receive expert guidance for your technique and abilities... state-of-the-art conditioning to strengthen and quicken your body... and support to get your mindset right for your match.
